18 November 2000 13th Annual Fannie Mae Help The Homeless Walkathon AWC-DC members will walk to raise funds for The Reading Connection; Freedom Plaza, 10:15 a.m. When registering, use READS as the Designated Agency Code. Participating walkers register to participate and pay a $20 fee. You are encouraged to solicit sponsors for your walk effort, and if you raise at least $20 in sponsorship money, your registration fee is waived. For youth (ages 5-25), the registration fee is $10.
1 December 2000 2000 AWC Red Hot Holiday Party! 7:30 p.m.—Birchmere Restaurant, 3701 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, VA (directions: 703-549-7500). Just $35 per person!! Enjoy good food, beer and wine, take a salsa lesson, and mambo the night away to MAMBO COMBO. 1 to 4 August 2001 AWC National Conference, Baltimore, MD, in the charming Renaissance Hotel in the Inner Harbor. There will be conference discounts for members who volunteer. We are also invited to recruit sponsors (20% of fees would go to the DC chapter).
