The AWC-DC Chapter offers members the opportunity to learn about careers in the expanding communications field.

As a member, you will meet professionals in journalism, communications technology, graphic design, public relations, technical writing, television, radio, community relations and more. The diversity of our members in the communications field is our strength. Membership is open to all women and men who work in the fields of communication.

Chapter Membership, whether it be in a professional chapter or a student chapter, gives communications professionals the opportunity to meet for program presentations, career development, and networking opportunities. Programs and Professional Development.
AWC-DC provides members with networking and professional growth opportunities. Members can participate in a range of activities, which include personal development, professional development, and fun ways to meet fellow members at happy hours and interesting monthly meetings. Annual Matrix Professional Awards and Scholarship Evening.
Held each year in April, the Matrix is the chapter's main event of the year. The chapter presents its Matrix Awards for Professional Achievement to top women in the communications profession for their work in the field and on behalf of women communicators. Also at Matrix, the chapter awards a merit scholarship to a young woman student who has shown achievement and potential in the field of communications.
