Topic: An Evening With MoveOn.org: An Electronic Revolution for the First Amendment

The face of advocacy in American politics has been forever changed due to the avant-garde electronic community of over 1,700,000 million Americans. Moveon.org gives a podium to the American people who wish to be heard amidst the buzz of the media and special interest groups. How did they amass such a voice? What innovations did they utilize with the Internet that can be applied to other Internet marketing initiatives? What impact does the use of this medium have on First Amendment?

Our speaker will be David Fenton, a leader in advocacy communications and a key consultant with MoveOn.org, who was named as “one of the 100 most influential P.R. people of the 20th Century” by PR Week magazine. He founded Fenton Communications in 1982 to create issue-oriented public relations campaigns focusing on the environment, public health and human rights. Over the course of two decades, he has pioneered the use of professional P.R. and advertising techniques by nonprofit public interest groups in the United States and around the world.

No matter what side of the aisle you’re on with the upcoming election, you’ll be enlightened on how to harness the power of the Internet in your business or organization. Join us for an engaging evening of the latest in communications and the First Amendment.
