Celebrate "Sunshine Week" with AWC-DC and W*USA 9
Sunshine Week commemorates free press and freedom of information (FOI) for keeping us all informed on important news and issues. Join fellow communications professionals as we celebrate at W*USA Channel 9 with a tour of the studios. Plus hear from special guest speaker and W*USA news anchor, Bruce Johnson, as he shares his experiences and challenges he has faced getting the news to us.

Bruce Johnson anchors the weekend edition of 9NEWS NOW at 6 and 11 pm. Bruce won another local Emmy in 2007 (one of 18 total) this one for his report on repairs at the Duke Ellington School. During his career, Johnson has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s best urban affairs and investigative journalists. Bruce is recognized in Washington as an expert on city government and politics for his Mayoral and City Council coverage. Some of his finest reporting has come from inner city communities, where residents struggle with a myriad of complex social and economic issues. In 2003, Bruce Johnson was voted into the Society of Professional Journalists' Hall of Fame.
